METALWORKING EQUIPMENT AND TOOLS

Without setting myself the goal of calling responsible persons to fulfill my professional
duty, I will try to describe in detail the process of static balancing of grinding wheels of different
brands and fans of industrial vacuum cleaners, using information from electronic sources and
    personal production experience.
            STATIC BALANCING OF GRINDING WHEELS
As noted, the imbalance of the grinding wheels (hereinafter referred to as wheels) operating
at high peripheral speeds leads to vibration, which accelerates the destruction of the bearings
of the rotor shafts (machine tools of the 3K634 type) and to the emergence of the danger of
the wheel breaking. In addition, the quality of processing, the ground (sharpened) surface
deteriorates and the consumption of the wheel increases. а
To eliminate (reduce) the imbalance, static balancing of
the wheel assembly with adapter flanges is performed
(for wheels with a diameter of more than 200 mm and a
height of more than 20 mm at cutting speeds of 35 m / s
    and above) [8].
The above balancing is carried out on balancing
devices before placing the wheels on the sharpener. The
most available are balancing devices developed in Soviet
times, which differ from each other mainly in the nature
of the supports for installing a mandrel with a circle worn
on it. Supports can be prisms, discs and rollers. These b
supports are equally good for balancing if they are parallel
and perfectly horizontal [1]. Such balancing devices are
shown in fig. 1. New abrasive wheels are balanced two
times together with flanges. After preliminary balancing,
the wheels are installed on a sharpener, pre-straightened
and removed again for final balancing [6].
To detect static imbalance, the circle, together
with the flanges, is mounted on a balancing machine and
installed on the device supports so that it can freely rotate c
about the axis of rotation. If the circle is not statically
balanced, it will always stop with the heavy part down
    [1].
This happens when the mass of the circle is
unbalanced relative to the axis of rotation. The imbalance
is usually corrected by adding a counterweight on the
light side. This is achieved by moving special balancing Fig. 1. Grinding wheel static balancing
weights ("shear block") placed in the flanges. A balanced machines: a - with two parallel rollers, b -
circle must remain stationary in any position [1]. Let's with supporting knives, c - with two pairs
                                                                                of rotating discs.
consider in more detail the proposed method of static
    balancing.
