        of the fan wheel disk, somewhat reducing the efficiency of the vacuum cleaner, nevertheless
        eliminates the imbalance and prevents the process of further physical destruction of the unit.
        Subsequently, when installing a new (serviceable) electric motor, the balancing weights can be
        removed from the fan impeller disk, and the holes drilled in the disk can be pinned with sillumin
        (aluminum) rods of a suitable diameter and "tacked" by spot welding. Still, it would be more
        economical than condemning the constantly rumble and vibrating machine to slow euthanasia.
               THE AFTERWORD
               But  here's  what  I  would like  to  say  in  conclusion.  In  the  preamble  of  the  article,  it
        was mentioned about the indifferent attitude of the mechanical engineers of the OGM of our
        enterprises to issues of preventive maintenance of machine tools and units on the balance sheet
        of the enterprise. To a greater extent, this statement is true in relation to machine tools and
        units made during the CMEA of the countries of the socialist camp. The PPR system that was
        once in effect in the USSR (as an integral part of the production culture) at enterprises now
        has nothing to do with machine tools of this age category. Therefore, any recommendations
        related to periodic static balancing of some bodies of revolution make sense only if there is a
        full-fledged operation of the above-mentioned SPR system, including veteran machines. For
        example, a preventive visual check that there is no imbalance in the rotating impeller of a fan
        of an industrial vacuum cleaner can be performed only by separating the fan assembly from the
        vacuum cleaner body. This means that the specified operation should be carried out once every
        two years in the process of minor (current) repair of this unit. At the same time, you should
        check the tightening torque of the bolts fastening the impeller to the hub of the rotor shaft of
        the electric motor and the reliability of the wire locking of the central (end) bolt. It is difficult
        to assume that all these operations will be observed in the presence of an unspoken rule at the
        enterprises, based on the principle: "do not interfere with the machine to work."
