Case 17 Date: 05.07.2020 Time: 03:00 hrs.
Incident
Due to heavy thunderstorm one wind sock installed at roof of MCR(Main Control Room) building fell down
on ground floor walkway . Fortunately no one was moving on walk way during this incident.
Root Cause
1. Weak structure of wind sock.
1.1 Rod bracing was not proper.
1.2 Wind sock structure Rod height was slight higher than normal.
2. Heavy thunderstorm (Natural calamity).
Recommendations
1. Wind sock structure to be strengthen - Rod height to be reduced and bracing to be done to strength the
structure against wind.
2. Wind sock survey across all units to be done for checking any similar abnormality.
3. Diameter and Height of pole to be standard.
