HSSE REQUIREMENT FOR CONTRACTOR, ALLO TECHNOLOGY
EDITION 01
Contractors shall ensure appropriate, suitable, and proper working attire for all his workers at
working site. Attire such as short pants, sleeveless shirts, torn jeans and slippers, are not
allowed to be worn at site.
All personnel, including contractors and subcontractors, working at the Allo Site are required
to always wear the following Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) safety helmet, high-visibility
safety vest, and safety shoes, with contractors responsible for compliance, and deviations or
requests for alternative PPE subject to written approval from the Allo Safety Health Officer
The contractors are required to:
a. The PPE must be approved by DOSH where applicable.
b. If the type of PPE is not approved by DOSH, contractor shall purchase the PPE in
accordance with SIRIM or other certified bodies.
c. Identification of suitable PPE based on HSSE risk assessment carried out.
d. Supply appropriate PPE in good condition to his workers and visitors at site with
adequate and correct type of PPE.
e. Provide training on the use of PPE.
f. PPE is regularly inspected using specific checklist and maintained according to
manufacturer’s recommendation.
g. PPE should be replaced immediately when damaged, contaminated or the condition
deteriorates, or when it reaches manufacturer recommended lifespan.
h. PPE records (issuance, inspection, disposal) are kept at respective offices for inventory
or audit purposes.
i. Provide suitable PPE storage.
a) Foot Protection
I. The contractor’s workers shall wear safety shoe that is suitable for the Works carried out
such as but not limited to the following requirements: -
a. Toe-cap
b. Puncture resistant mid-sole
c. Slip resistant sole
d. Non-conductive, electrical shock resistant soled shoes when working electricity
e. Anti-static shoes when working in areas that may contain flammable vapors in the
atmosphere
f. Appropriate shoes when carrying out activities other than activities mentioned above
b) Head Protection
I. Helmet shall be of an appropriate shell size for the wearer and have an easily adjustable
headband and chin strap. The safety helmet must comply with DOSH SIRIM.
II. Accessories such as earmuffs and face shields can be fitted to safety helmets and care shall
be taken when fitting them that the shell is not weakened or their performance impaired.
III. Safety helmets shall be worn at all times at work sites, at any time where there is a
potential risk of head injury, and at any time when the appropriate sign is displayed at the
workplace.
IV. Safety helmet, which has been subjected to a heavy blow, shall be replaced immediately,
even if there is no sign of damage.
