I sat down on the bleachers under a long, green, square shade above our heads where we

could save ourselves from having sunburn on our bodies. In the ballpark, there were two teams

playing against each other for the championship trophy. The team in the right pit or box was

wearing a red and black mixed island design with numbers on their back. The team in the left pit

or box were wearing blue and white mixed island designs with numbers on their back.

Outside the ballpark, there were a lot of white tents and smoke coming out of the areas. I

scrunched my nose and felt my forehead grow wrinkled as I walked close to the tents. Then I

relaxed my face as I saw some ladies. I didn't want them to think I was being rude. There were

tables set out with plates of food organized on the table. People came and went after getting their

food from the stalls of the sellers. People like me that sell food, are used to making money to

fundraise or to make money for church service.

People like me are always finding happiness during the summer. For me, having fun with

others and meeting new people is the kind of thing that makes me happy instead of staying home

on the couch dying of boredom. Having a May Day celebration in our communities is the most

important part of our life, because, through entertainment, we can show all the love and

excitement happening. This is my favorite part of my summer because my smile shows a lot

more than during the school year.
