broken or thrown at the kid’s head. An investigation was started, and they interrogated the kid’s
mom and dad for 24 hours straight. When they interviewed the dad, he lied to them not once but
three times. The doctor knew this because he caught his story changing over and over again. The
mother’s story did not change. Two weeks later, the kid’s dad was arrested for child abuse. He
only served 10 years because he was doing everything right and completed his community
service.
Eleven years later, the kid's dad is now able to see his kids as long as there is another
trusted adult with them. The boy that lost his dad but now has a stepdad does everyday things a
dad should do. The kid’s mom is happy and hard at work.
Currently the kids live in a small town in the south and are trying their best in school so
that they can get a good job. It is hard because they are studying for their driving permit, reading
25 to 30 minutes a day. Once they get a permit, they will have to find a summer job and learn to
pay for some of the bills. They will need to learn how to use a checking account and live on their
own. When they turn 18, they are on their own, unless they go to college.
