20 The Unforgettable Moments in Life
My Childhood By Anahi Gomez
I grew up in an old house in Mexico where the paint was peeling off the walls. It was
very chilly and cold at night time, but in the daytime, it was very humid and pretty outside. The
small house I
grew up in was
filled with many
family
members. Our
house was the
oldest in the
neighborhood
and sometimes I
felt embarrassed
of where we
lived and how many of us were living in it.
I felt really sad but at the same time, I was happy because I was moving to a place where
I would not feel embarrassed anymore. I felt sad because I was going to move somewhere I
didn't know, and I knew I would be leaving behind the only home I had ever known. I knew no
matter how old and ugly the house was, I would miss the good memories made there. I will
always remember when I would go outside and play soccer with all the kids and go get ice cream
from this one lady. I will always remember playing with dirt outside, throwing it at each other
until it was night and not caring if we got dirty.
