72 The Unforgettable Moments in Life

When mass was over, they all left the church quietly and slowly since there were lots of

people. They immediately looked for a place to eat since they were hungry and hadn’t had

breakfast. They got plenty of food like carnitas, pollo, red rice, nopales, and drinks. After they

finished eating, they saw a mother with two children looking hungry, as if they hadn’t eaten in

days. Most people in Mexico don’t work and sometimes go days without eating, so Dulce

decided to offer them their leftovers. They looked very grateful and happy. Then they shopped

for a few items to take home, like a bracelet, candy, and more. On this trip she felt really happy

and proud of herself for making someone's day and spending so much time with her family,

especially getting to visit the beautiful church.

This tradition of my friend going to Mexico every December is very special and exciting

for her, not only spending time with her family and celebrating but also visiting places that have

to do with her religion and lots more. This tradition is also very big for her and her family

because it's the only time of the year she gets to see her family from Mexico and spend time with

them.
