6.3 Rolling Stock Component Factory, Ratnagiri

The Rolling Stock Component Factory is being built by KRCL as a modern, platinum
rated, green and energy efcient factory for Central Railway to overhaul rolling stock
bogies, assemblies and components. It is being constructed at Additional Parshuram
Lote MIDC on 50 acre land. The turnkey contract for construction of the Rolling Stock
Component Factory was awarded to M/s Tata Projects Ltd. on 12.7.2019 at ` 392.59
Crore. The contract for Project Management services was awarded to M/s Rass Project
Consultants Ltd., Pune. The Design of Factory Complex has been nalised. The
boundary wall, land development work has been completed and the work of
construction of Factory Sheds is underway. Critical machinery and equipment for LHB
bogie overhaul has been procured. 33KV Power supply shall be provisioned by
MSEDCL. The expenditure (provisional gures) during the year has been ` 77.84 Crore
against the target of ` 75 Crore.
