7.  ELECTRICAL

                   7.1  Safety


                   High standards of safety were maintained with following achievements:

                   •     Electrical accident of re in KRCL trains – Nil

                   •     En-route AC failure (CNAC) in KRCL trains – Nil


                   •     Detention of trains on account of tunnel ventilation failure - Nil

                   7.2  Railway Electrication

                   •     CRS sanction has been obtained for introduction of commercial services for carriage of
                         goods  and  passenger  trafc  on  25kV  Ac  traction  in  Bijoor-Thokur  section  (108.858
                         RKM/134 TKM) vide letter no. C-13(396)/2020/254 dated 18.03.2020.


                   •     Despite difcult working conditions due to tough terrain in Roha-RN and Tokur-Kumta
                         sections with 44.5 Km tunnels, 291 nos. of deep cuttings and 99 nos. of bridges, which
                         was further worsened by the unprecedented heavy & stormy rains for almost 4 months,
                         all out efforts were made to achieve the target. Notwithstanding the outbreak of deadly
                         COVID-19 in the month of March 2020, Capex booking of ` 262.77 Crore could be
                         achieved.

               8.  ENERGY CONSERVATION, TECHNOLOGY ABSORPTION AND FOREIGN EXCHANGE
                   EARNINGS AND OUTGO

                   The information pertaining to conservation of Energy, technology Absorption and Foreign
                   Exchange Earnings and Outgo stipulated under section 134(3)(m) of the Companies Act,
                   2013, read with the Sub Rule 3 of Rule 8 of Companies (Accounts) Rules, 2014 are as under:


                   8.1  Energy Conservation

                   8.1.1 Compared  to  last  year,  2.80%  saving  (excluding  inevitable  consumption  due  to
                         additional load/new activities) in electrical energy consumption was achieved, thereby
                         saving ` 23.85 lakh. Besides, an incentive reward of ` 21.80 lakh from the State Electricity
                         Boards was earned for efcient energy management.

                   8.1.2 Green Energy


                   •     5.29 lakhs Kwh was generated by the Solar Power Plants installed, saving ` 66.68 lakh.
                         Cumulative  saving  of  `  213.98  lakh  has  been  achieved  since  this  provision,  by
                         generating 19.02 lakh Kwh.
