1.7.3.1 Cabling

Cabling to new devices and equipment will be installed as 4.0mm LSF insulated YY multicore
cables on tray. Circuits connecting to more than 5 twin sockets will be installed as a ring; all
others will be installed as radial.
The Electrical Contractor will confirm the size of the cable to suit the rating of the protection
device, taking account of any applicable de-rating factors.
1.7.4 IT Installations
The Electrical Contractor will provide cable basket containment for the use of the digital
equipment installer, as described by the Technical Specifications for Electrical Installations
Generally.
1.7.5 Lighting
The Electrical Contractor will call-off the quantities and types of luminaires required to
complete the lighting installation. The Contractor is reminded to place the order for the
luminaires as early as possible, as some fittings are on long delivery.
1.7.5.1 Kitchen Lighting
Where identified by the project scope, provide a new lighting installation in accordance with
the requirements of the Technical Specifications for Electrical Installations Generally.
Refer to the HVAC Contractor for the setting out of the ceiling grid and the location of
accessible tiles and grilles.
The Electrical Contractor will lay out the lighting distribution to avoid blocking access tiles,
light fittings will generally be installed across the access corridor aisles.
The linear kitchen lighting will generally be installed perpendicular to the aisles, excepting
where this will require the light fitting to be located over a hot cooking surface, at hot
surfaces the light fittings will be installed along the aisle, refer to the appendices in the
Technical Specifications for Electrical Installations Generally.
1.7.6 Emergency Lighting
1.7.6.1 Kitchen Area
The main lighting in the kitchen is not available with an emergency conversion. Emergency
lighting in the kitchen will be provided using E3R recessed fittings.
The Electrical Contractor will determine the appropriate number and distribution of fittings
to be installed in the kitchen to achieve the required luminance level.
