PARTICULAR ELECTRICAL SPECIFICATION

1.6 STRIP-OUT WORKS
The Electrical Contractor will isolated and make safe the electrical installations in the store
prior to the Main Contractor taking down existing finishes and removing existing kitchen and
other electrical equipment in accordance with the extent of the scope.
Lighting in the back-of-house corridor is to be retained as installed unless otherwise
instructed by the Project Manager.
The lighting equipment will contain fluorescent lamps, which must be disposed of properly in
accordance with the WEEE directive The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment
Regulations 2002/96/EC and 2003/108/EC and the lamps must not be put in a skip and taken
to landfill sites.
The lamps must be taken to an approved disposal site where they can be crushed and
recycled.
The Contractor is to take note of any anomalies, defects and/or non-conformities in the final
connections to the kitchen equipment that may be uncovered during the strip-out process.
These matters are to be brought to the express attention of the Project Manager and are to
be corrected before the re-installation of the kitchen equipment, at the end of the kitchen
refurbishment.
