PARTICULAR ELECTRICAL SPECIFICATION

1.8 NEW INSTALLATIONS (LIM UPGRADES)
Where the scope of the project is inclusive a LIM up-grade for the lobby and public spaces
generally the following will apply.
1.8.1 Lobby Power Distribution
1.8.1.1 General power sockets
Supply and install twin switched sockets in the lobby as indicated on the Architects’ General
Arrangement drawing, or otherwise as directed by the Project Manager.
Sockets will generally be fitted in the skirting or back panel between bench seats.
For socket finishes refer to the Technical Specifications for Electrical Installations Generally.
1.8.1.2 Power Assisted Entrance Doors
Where indicated an automatic door actuator will be fitted by others, to allow disabled
persons to operate the entrance doors by pressing a low level switch located at low level
external to the shop front.
Where a door actuator is already fitted the existing electrical supply is to be retained, the
Electrical Contractor will re-connect the supply to the new door actuator allow the specialist
installer to commission the door controller.
Where new equipment is to be fitted then the Contractor is to provide a local 13 ampere 240
volt fused connection unit above the false ceiling, the door actuator will be connected to a
dedicated circuit from the general or kitchen distribution board
1.8.1.1 Door Air Curtain
Where indicated a door air curtain system will be fitted by others, inclusive of a door fan and
roof mounted reverse cycle heat pump. The Electrical Contractor will provide a 25A TP&N
power supply to the roof plant and linked 25A SP&N supply to the door fan, as described by
the Technical Specifications for Electrical Installations Generally.

The circuit to the roof plant will be installed as 4.0mm 4-core XLPE/SWA/LSF cable with a

4.0mm CPC. The circuit from the roof plant to the overdoor fan will be installed as a 4.0mm
3-core YY cable.
1.8.1.2 Hand Dryers
Where the scope of the project is inclusive of the refurbishment of the public and/or
disabled toilets the Electrical Contractor is to supply and install new hand dryers in the
locations shown on the Architects’ General Arrangement drawing.
