GENERAL ELECTRICAL SPECIFICATION

The Main L.V. distribution equipment shall be provided complete with all the necessary
traffolyte labels and circuit charts and circuit chart holders, these will be supplied and
installed by the Electrical Contractor.
The Electrical Contractor shall provide a list of labels for approval prior to the
manufacture of same.
Connections to the main MCCB and neutral bar and all outgoing MCCB’s shall be made via
compression lugs. The main MCCB shall also be fitted with a spreader box to facilitate
connections.
Compression lugs shall be as manufactured by BICC “BT range” (copper, C + stud hole size)
or similar with an operating temperature of up to and including 150 degreesC.
Compression lugs shall be fitted in accordance with the manufacturers instruction using
only the manufacturers approved crimping tools fitted with the appropriate die.
Outgoing switches with a rating in excess of 100A will be fitted with a panel meter; meters
will be located in an extension box, part reference MGPCM12R & MGPC2025.
2.7 SUB-MAIN SWITCHGEAR
2.7.1 Kitchen Power Distribution
The Kitchen Distribution pan assembly will be TP&N Acti 9 Isobar, type B, MCB board,
complete with
• 200A, 4-pole switch disconnector
• Digital multi-meter (refer to metering section for details)
The Electrical Contractor will determine the number of circuit ways required to allow for
the connection of all the new kitchen equipment identified on the H&K drawing plus a
minimum of 3 spare TP&N ways.
Where additional circuitry is required for supplies in the lobby area, Managers office,
Crew room or Corral the Kitchen Power Distribution pan assembly designation will change
to General Power Distribution. The size of the MCB pan assembly will be increased to
accommodate the additional circuits and maintain the number of spare ways.
2.7.2 Lighting Distribution
The lighting distribution pan assembly will be TP&N Acti 9 Isobar, type B, MCB board,
complete with a 125A, 4-pole switch disconnector.
The Electrical Contractor will determine the number of circuit ways required to allow for
the connection of the new lighting installation plus a minimum of 1 spare TP&N ways. The
minimum panel size shall be not less than 4 TP&N ways.
