2.8 CABLE DISTRIBUTION

2.8.1 Type of Wiring System

The cables and wiring systems shall be the types as detailed below: -

Use Wiring System

Main LSF single core fixed in galvanised steel trunking
XLPE insulated copper cables with LSF sheath, fixed to galvanised
channel steel support by nylon cleats
Sub-Main LSF insulated copper cables (6491B) enclosed in galvanised steel
trunking and XLPE/SWA/LSF cables
Kitchen Area PVC/SWA/LSF cables fixed to cable tray at the fabric of the building
and LSF insulated cables enclosed in steel trunking and plastic
conduit and YY PVC/LSF cables fixed to cable tray
General Lighting LSF insulated copper Small Power cables (6491B) enclosed in
galvanised steel trunking and heavy duty plastic conduit and
Telemecanique lighting bus bar system c/w tap offs, feeder units
and Rendar distribution units (5way 10A)
Restaurant Power LSF insulated copper cables lighting & (6491B) enclosed in
galvanised steel cable trunking and heavy duty plastic conduit and
YY PVC/LSF cables fixed to cable tray
HVAC Plant L andSF insulated copper cables (6491B) enclosed in galvanised steel
Controls cable trunking and heavy duty plastic conduit, XLPE/SWA/LSF
cables and YY PVC/LSF cables fixed to cable tray
Fire Alarms Pirelli FP200 gold fire resistant cable
External Lighting and PVC insulated copper cables enclosed in galvanised steel cable
Signs trunking and heavy duty PVC conduit and PVC/SWA/PVC cables
Till Wiring 3 core FP200 cable fixed to cable tray, fabric of the building and
enclosed in flush PVC conduit in walls. STD 13amp FCU with IEC
leads will be used with 5amp fuses

2.8.2 Armoured Cables

2.8.2.1 Materials

Armoured cables from 1.5mm up to and including 10mm CSA. shall be XLPE/SWA type.

Cables 16mm and above shall be XLPE/SWA type, 600/1000 volt grade PVC insulated
extruded PVC bedded, armoured, LSF sheathed cables shall conform to BS 6346 1997
