RELATIONS AND FOOD SECURITY
5.1. “One belt - one road” - the importance of a global investment project today
Increasing globalization and integration processes. The acceleration of
globalization and integration processes in the world has led to the expansion of trade relations
between countries. This process requires, firstly, the development of a transport
communications system, as well as the formation of new, cheap and short transcontinental
transit corridors, and secondly, mutual coordination of the transport industry connecting the
countries of the region with the global transport system. system.
At the moment, many heads of state are putting forward initiatives to implement
transport projects, and efforts aimed at restoring the Great Silk Road should be noted as one
of the important projects. In this direction, it should be noted that at the initial stage , more
than 900 billion US dollars are planned to be allocated for the implementation of the “One
Place – One Road” project developed by China to create global transport corridors. The
implementation of such transport corridors will save both time and unnecessary costs during
international transport.
It is known that in 2013, China announced a new economic development strategy
called “One Place, One Road” with the aim of expanding cooperation between Eurasian
countries. Thus, Chinese President Xi Jinping is implementing his ideas to revive the
centuries-old Great Silk Road. The idea of creating a New Silk Road was put forward by Xi
Jinping on September 7, 2013. A month later, he repeated his views on a 21st-century Silk
Road in a speech to the Indonesian parliament.
In world practice, special research centers have been created aimed at developing the
transport system, and targeted scientific research is being conducted to find scientific
solutions to problems in this direction. In particular, the creation of cheap and short transport
corridors as an alternative for countries without direct access to the sea, the development of
the use of multimodal transport corridors, the introduction of modern and convenient transport
and logistics services, and the reduction of transport costs. The cost of goods has received
special attention from a wide range of scientific communities.
