Article V, Section 2(A)(6)(h) above (regarding a 1 year waiting period for
new Members).
2. Election of Member-Sponsored Prospects
a. Election of new Chapter members shall be held once a Program Year during
the months of January through April.
b. In order to obtain membership in the Chapter, a prospective member must
receive a favorable 2/3 of the votes cast by the Active Members in Good
Standing. A Quorum is required.
c. Votes cast for the election of new members shall be cast by secret ballot.
D. Legacy Status Intake: Legacy Status (“Legacy”) is granted to each Child (male or
female) (y) who graduates from the Chapter and whose mother is a Member in Good
Standing at the time of the Child’s graduation (or granted immediate Legacy status due to
the death of their mother who completed her tenure in Good Standing) from the Chapter;
or (z) who obtains the status pursuant to Article V, Section 2(A)(6)(g) hereof. In such
cases, the female Child or the female spouse of a male Child of that mother shall be entitled
to automatically become a member of the Chapter (if she lives within the required
territorial boundaries as defined in Article V – General hereof) upon submission of an
application and payment of any required monies to the Organization under the following
conditions:
1. Each Legacy (male or female) shall attain membership through this process/status
only once. If Legacy status was granted to the first spouse of a male child, any
subsequent spouse must seek membership pursuant to the Member-Sponsored
Intake process as outlined above.
2. Legacy members shall submit an application for legacy membership to the National
Corresponding Secretary by the deadline established in the NPP.
3. Prospective members joining the Chapter under this classification shall be in
addition to the Chapter quota and shall be initiated annually.
4. Members joining the Chapter under this classification shall be oriented and initiated
on the same timetable as other incoming members
5. Members entering the Chapter under this classification are expected to fulfill the
requirements of membership as established by the Chapter and the National
Organization.
6. Members entering under this classification who do not fulfill the obligations of
membership are subject to the same process of Involuntary Termination of
Membership as outlined in Article V, Section 4.
