edged towards safety. Bells was able to grab the ball and put it into the boat to
the relief of all the footballers on the beach.

Soon Lucy was reunited with her mother.

“You are all so brave and you saved my daughter’s life. I’d like to buy you all
an ice cream”, said the mother.

“Yes please!”, they all cried.

So they all had Magnums.

A journalist from the Kentish Express happened to be on the beach and

witnessed the rescue. He approached the gang.

“You were amazing. Absolutely brilliant rescue. Well done!”, he said. “I
should like to take your photos and write a story for my paper”. The gang were
thrilled. He took their picture along with little Lucy and her mother.

“Think of it, the four of us in the paper”, said James with pride.

And so it was in the paper the next day with the headline: “Brave children

rescue little girl from certain death.”
