Marketing Manager
                                                 POSITION DESCRIPTION
                                            AUCKLAND YOUTH ORCHESTRA

              Position Summary
              The Marketing Manager is responsible for ensuring that AYO and all concerts have appropriate
              and effective publicity.  The Marketing Manager and Communications Manager liaise with each
              other to ensure consistency in AYO’s messages to the players and public.

               Duties and Responsibilities
                    1.   AYO Promotion

                    Actively work to promote AYO’s public profile, thus assisting in recruiting new players
                      and attracting funding.
                    Design and maintain a supply of a general purpose marketing brochure
                    Design and assemble the annual AYO Review for publication on the website:
                          o  Plan, receive and arrange content:- design front cover
                          o  Send pdf copy to Committee for comment then send on to Website
                             Maintenance for upload.
                    Establish positive contacts to generally assist with the marketing process,
                    e.g. with other arts organisations, media outlets, music retailers, music directors and
                      teachers, school music departments in Auckland and at regular performance
                      destinations.
                    Maintain awareness of AYO’s website and ensure that content supports the required
                      branding and marketing focus.


                    2.    Concert Promotion

                    Develop marketing strategies to fulfill revenue and attendance goals.
                          o  Plan and implement concert publicity campaigns, including the design and
                             placement of print and electronic advertising, special promotions, and
                             corporate endorsements. Oversee the work of outside contractors.
                          o  Oversee the development and production of all materials used to support the
                             orchestra’s public relations/marketing campaigns, including printed and
                             electronic media, press releases, newsletters, printed programme and special
                             promotions. Ensure the quality, consistency, and accuracy of all
                             communications.

                    Prepare Press Releases for each programme, containing information re scheduled
                      performances, repertoire, conductor, soloist and the orchestra.  Send to appropriate
                      media outlets.

                    Maintain contacts in the media to promote AYO activities – especially articles or
                      reviews in local newspapers and listings in print and online event calendars.

                    Maintain / share Promotion Run-Sheet for each programme on Google Drive
                          o  Design and branding
                          o  Print/radio/online advertising

                    3.   Printed Concert Programmes
                    Produce printed concert programme for each concert series:
