3.    Promotion

                    Lead and motivate players to promote concerts in person and online.
                    Carpet Bombing. Organise groups of 5 with 1 driver per group to distribute
                      posters/flyers at a variety of businesses or venues that potential AYO concertgoers
                      would frequent – e.g. music shops, retail outlets, community facilities, libraries. Post-
                      carpet-bombing social activity at specified time.
                    Handouts. Organise groups of players to hand out flyers to concertgoers of APO /
                      NZSO / St Matthews Chamber Orchestra / Bach Musica / NZ Pops / Manukau
                      Symphony / University Orchestra concerts. Check websites/Eventfinda to track what
                      concerts are happening in the weeks prior to an AYO concert. The most important of
                      these is the free-entry University Gala concert, usually in May each year.
                    Assist Communications Officer by updating AYO social media pages with interesting
                      information and run event campaigns to promote concerts and recruitment.

                    4.    Library

                    Assist the Music Director with the administration of parts and folders:
                          o  keep a record of all music folders and parts issued to players;
                          o  help print and/or photocopy parts.
                    Ensure that all music and folders are collected after the final concert and returned to
                      AYO storage or the AYO music librarian.

                    5.  Other Roles
                    Perform other roles as agreed at Committee and report on progress at each
                      Committee meeting.
                    6.   Development
                    Actively work to retain existing AYO players and attract new players to the orchestra.
                    Establish positive contacts with other arts organisations, media outlets, music
                      retailers, music directors, school and private music instructors in Auckland and
                      regular performance destinations.
                    Work to expand public awareness of AYO and maintain a positive image of the
                      orchestra.
                    Keep eye out for opportunities – rehearsal and performance venues, soloists,
                      design, promotion.
