Chapter 2 - Improve your play part 1

Congratulations!

You can now play minibridge. All we have to do now is improve your
game.
First you have to learn an important lesson -

When the dummy goes down you must not rush

This is where lots of you panic, play a card too quickly and make a
mistake! It is NOT a race and beside all of that you have forgotten to say,
“Thank you partner!”
Now the next thing to do is you must learn in bridge is not to look at
your hand. It is the combination of your hand and partner’s (or dummy’s)
hand that matters.

Then, the second thing we must remember that you are a Proper
Living Person because this is where your tricks come from.
T Tricks by Power. There are two sort of tricks by power.
Immediate tricks and slow tricks.
Immediate or quick tricks by power are tricks the you can win
now! Look at these examples-
Í A K Q J
Here you can cash the four spades in the North
hand now. Four quick tricks by power. Í 6 5 2

Now we make it a little harder. We still have four Í A K Q 2
quick tricks by power but only if we remember to
play the Jack first. Remember - Í J 6 5
