Task 13: Strip and clean the guestroom bed

OPERATING PROCEDURES STANDARD(s)

1. Enter guestroom door. See Guestroom Task: Entering Maximum of 15 minutes strip cleaning
the guestroom appropriately.
Strip cleaning of room is done in all check out/ unblocked room
2. Inform LMC of your location, i.e. room number. for the day.
Absence of dirty dishes, litters, trash and soiled linens inside

4. Turn off Air Conditioning Unit (ACU), TV and lights. Biodegradable and non-biodegradable trashes are separated
in the cart’s garbage bags.
5. Open lights only on area/ part of the room currently being
cleaned and turn off also after cleaning. Each type of soiled linen is segregated and filed properly in
the cart.
- Blankets
6. Clear out dirty dishes and remove left-over food if any and - Bed sheets
throw in the garbage bag. - Pillow cases
- Set items neatly outside the door. - Bath towels
- Call room service for pick up. - Hand towels
- Face towels
7. Clear out trashes.
- Pick up scattered empty cans/ bottles and other
litters if any and placed in the trash can.
- Clear dirty ashtrays and glasses.
- Remove trashes from the trash cans and place
in the cart’s garbage bag.

8. Collect used bath/ hand/ face towels and bathmat and
place in the cart or throw in the linen chute.

9. Strip the bed.
- Check the bedcover and blanket for stains, tears
and holes.
- Remove the bedcover and blanket, fold and place
them on a chair.
- Remove pillow cases from pillows. Place the pillows
aside together with the bed cover and blanket.
- Remove the sheets.
- Put soiled bed sheets and pillows on the cart or
throw in the linen chute.
- File each item in the cart.
- Check mattress pad for stains and hair strands.
Brush off hair strands and replace pad, if necessary.
- Double check under the bed for trash or guest items.

10. Close the window.

11. Exit the room, gently close the door and make sure it is
locked.
