School Events and Extra-curricular Activities at GHV

Today, a school is no longer merely an educational institution. It is a student's second home. Keeping this in mind, Goldcrest High
has made continuous efforts to ensure that Goldcrestians excel not only in academics but also in various extra-curricular activities.

Not a moment of any student's life at Goldcrest High is dull or drab since along with classes, students are always engaged in
preparing for inter-house and inter-school competitions, or helping organize various school events. The first major event of this

year was in April: The Sports Day. From the 'March Past' to initiate the sports day, to the nail-biting competitions of racing, and
other activities, Sports Day was a completely thrilling and spectacular experience. It was a breath-taking sight to see the athletes

sprint across the tracks as the spectators and students enthusiastically cheered for them from the stands. To celebrate the school's
                                                                                                                               th

10 anniversary, the School had organized a literature festival titled, 'GHV Litfest' on August 14 , 2020. The Lit-fest comprised of
a plethora of inter-school competitions and workshops conducted by the Guests of Honour, Ms. Katie Bagli and Dr. Paramita
Mukherjee Mullick. The exhilaration of the students while the winners were being felicitated was unparalleled. One of the most

anticipated events of the year was the Annual Concert. Playing the characters of an epic like 'the Mahabharata' is no joke, but the
students consistently delivered stellar performances. The concert was filled with vibrant decorations and had a contagious energy

to it. The most memorable moment of the evening was undoubtedly the finale, as all the dancers and the main cast graced the stage
                                                                                                     th
for a jaw-dropping performance. The Winter Carnival, held on January 18 , was an excellent opportunity for students to enjoy and
relax before they started rigorously preparing for the final examinations. From a Ferris wheel to an array of carnival games, to an
assortment of stalls selling foodstuffs and knick-knacks, the carnival was the perfect way of taking your mind off from anything

and everything that may be bothering one. The pure joy radiating out of the students could melt the coldest of hearts. Aside from
these events, various inter-house competitions have also been regularly held in the last academic year. From the Debate

Competition to the Poster making competition; from the Tableau Competition to the Quiz Competition; each and every student has
had a chance to display their talent and skills to win points for their respective houses. To conclude, Goldcrest High has

alwaysgiven special significance to events and extra-curricular activities. If all work and no play make Jack a dull boy, then
Goldcrest High has ensured that not a single Goldcrestian is a dull student.
