In accordance with the decision of the department council, the faculty members were confirmed
to publish the description of the courses on Rafid and announce and explain them to the students
in the first lecture (Annex S2-3-3-2 Sample of Courses on the Learning Platform). At the end of
each course, the course coordinator conducts a questionnaire for students in order to assess the
course learning outcomes (Annex S2-3-3-3 Questionnaire of Student’s Satisfaction with Learning
Outcomes).
2-3-4: The program applies mechanisms to support and motivate excellence in teaching, and
encourages creativity and innovation of the teaching staff.
The faculty sends a link to all teachers to fill the teaching portfolio (Faculty Academic File &
Evaluation) every year (Annex S2-3-4-1 Faculty Members Guide of Mechanical Engineering). This
document contains data pertaining to the staff member's involvement in educational instruction,
research endeavors, and participation in committees or units at the departmental or university
level. The teaching portfolios are subsequently submitted by the several departments for
evaluation by the faculty board. The consideration of this criterion holds significance in the
nomination of teachers for prizes. The program implements methods aimed at encouraging and
stimulating teaching excellence, while also promoting the creativity and innovation of the
instructional faculty. Numerous accolades exist to endorse the subject matter, such as the Al Baha
Award for Creativity and Excellence (Annex S2-3-4-2) and (Annex S2-3-4-3).
The program provides faculty members with academic support related to researches and
publications. For example, the program encourages faculty members to participate in conferences
and research projects sponsored by the University (Annex S2-3-4-4 Scientific Research Plan). The
present evidence S2-3-4-4 shows a list of the research that is being done by the faculty members.
These research activities not only serve as a source of information for other researchers and
practitioners, but they also help faculty members develop in terms of creativity, innovation, etc.
They will also have a positive impact on the effectiveness of teaching and learning.
The program also promotes the importance of teaching through various reward systems. For
example, the program rewards faculty members who have excelled in teaching during the
