15. Diversification

For several years, I'd had a real desire to diversify. It had
become a need.
I've been through a number of economic crises: in 2000,
the bursting of the dotcom bubble; in 2001, the 9/11 attacks
in the USA; and in 2008, the subprime crisis. Each time, I've
experienced, through my companies, moments that weren't
always easy, because my only business was IT management.
As soon as the sector suffered the adverse effects of a crisis,
we were directly impacted, as these effects often called into
question our customers' investment strategies. I was
obsessed!
In February 2010, I organized a colourful evening on the
theme of 1001 Nights. I invited a gifted young Moroccan
