15.3 End of a dream
In March 2011, we leased the commercial space for 9 years
with a classic 3 - 6 - 9 lease. Our plans were well established
and we were at the beginning of November 2014. My
daughter, Alicia, worked with me on both the IT and fashion
sides of the business.
I had just turned 63. I explained to my daughter that, in
reality, I was running the business and she was helping me,
but that if we were to continue for another 3 years, we would
have to reverse the roles and come to the realization that she
would have to take the lead, with my role then being to help
her. I asked her to think carefully about this choice.
After a few weeks' contemplation, she explained to me that
she had major doubts about being able to manage both the

IT and fashion businesses properly. Her fear was that she
would do neither properly.
Our core business was, of course, IT.

Without regret, we have decided to discontinue the "Fashion
house" business on March 31, 2014.
