Viewing arrangements
We would be pleased to arrange an appointment for you to view your
relative/friend at the hospital. We have a designated viewing room
which we will endeavour to prepare in accordance with your
preferences, including your religion or belief. Please let us know if
you would like to use the room, either at the same time as the
collection of the MCCD, or at a different time. A member of the
bereavement team will be available to support you between 10.00am
and 3.45pm Monday to Friday. Viewing is only possible outside of
these hours in exceptional circumstances. You may, of course, prefer
to wait until the deceased person is transferred to the funeral director’s
place of rest.
Chaplaincy department
Chaplains are available for support and spiritual care whatever your
beliefs or faith. If you would like to see a member of the chaplaincy
team please ask the bereavement team. Saint Luke’s Chapel is
located on the first floor of Cheyne wing, close to the lift and is open
from 7.00am to 10.00pm. We also have The Sanctuary, adjacent to
Saint Luke’s Chapel, which is available for quiet reflection.
King’s holds a number of events at which we remember patients who
have died. The services have a mixture of non-religious and religious
readings. The service to remember adults is held each year on the
first Saturday in November and for babies and children, the first
Saturday in December.
