AMOS SIMMONS FOY, the first of our line of FOYs who came to Texas of
whom I can find a record, was the son of FREDERICK FOY, JR who was the
son of FREDERICK FOY, SR who was the son of THOMAS FOY.
Researchers have done an excellent job of sorting through records available in
North Carolina regarding the early FOYs in that area. As we have discussed
earlier, when there are more than one person with the same name at the same
time in the same area it is difficult to identify which records refer to which
person. Such was the case with the available records of FREDERICK FOY, SR
and FREDERICK FOY, JR.
As one the very first FOY families to come to Texas was descended from him, it
is useful to examine some of the information uncovered regarding FREDERICK
FOY, JR.
