AN ENAMELED YIXING SNUFF BOTTLE
1840-1880
Of flattened ovoid form, the shoulders rising to a cylindrical neck, one
face painted with a magpie in a plum tree, the other with a butterfly
fluttering above a peony bush, all against a blue enamel ground, the
flat lip and base of the oval foot ring revealing the dark brown body, the
foot enameled turquoise.

A LAPIS LAZULI SNUFF BOTTLE
1800-1900
Of flattened oval form, surmounted by a short tubular neck with flat
lip, all supported on an oval foot ring, the deep blue stone with lighter
striations and white inclusions suffused with pyrite.
