A SANCAI-GLAZED POTTERY JAR AND A
COVER
Tang dynasty
Of ovoid form, the broad shoulder surmounted
by an amber-glazed short neck with wide mouth
and rolled-rim, the buff earthenware body liberally
splashed with green glaze that streaks towards
the base over evenly spaced wax-resist florets
with amber centers, the associated domed cover
similarly applied with wax-resist decoration and
surmounted by a bud-finial.

A WHITE GLAZED POTTERY JAR AND COVER
Tang dynasty
Potted with an ovoid body rising from a flat foot,
surmounted by a short neck with an everted rim, the
visible surfaces applied with an ivory colored glaze,
the domed cover similarly glazed, surmounted by a
bud-shaped finial, the unglazed foot and underside
of the cover revealing the buff-colored body.
