           A YUEYAO YELLOW-GLAZED EWER
           Five dynasties/Northern Song dynasty
           Potted with an ovoid body divided by six pairs of vertical ribs rising
           from the waisted foot ring to the stepped shoulder, surmounted by the
           wide trumpet neck, supporting the strap handle opposite the elegantly
           curved spout, the shoulder applied with two opposing, tapering tabs,
           pierced through the middle for the insertion of a handle and molded on
           the ends with floral sprigs, the pale gray body covered overall with a
           transparent straw-yellow glaze.

           A similar Five Dynasties/Northern Song dynasty ewer with a green
           glaze was sold at Christie’s New York, 16 October 2001, lot 34. Other
           similar examples are illustrated in Five Thousand Years of Chinese
           Art: Porcelain (II), Taipei, 1985, col. pl. 115; and by Regina Krahl,
           Yuegutang: A Collection of Chinese Ceramics, Berlin, 2000, no.210,
           p.256.

           A JUNYAO TRIPOD CENSER
           Yuan dynasty
           Potted with a compressed globular body surmounted by a tubular
           neck rising to a canted flat lip with raised edge, flanked by two
           rectangular upright handles connected to the shoulder by molded
           scrolls, all supported on three short legs, covered overall in a thick,
           streaked sky-blue glaze splashed with purple and thinning at the
           edges to a pale mushroom color, part of the interior and feet unglazed
           revealing the buff body.

           Each potted with a cylindrical body surmounted by a tall neck flanked
           by fixed ring handles, below a broad flat rim, all covered with a green
           glaze except for the brown dressed foot pad.
