with silk tassels, and one padded appliqué cut in the shape of a lion
dog densely embroidered in gilt-wrapped threads.

TWO LADY’S EMBROIDERED SILK GARMENTS
Late Qing dynasty
The first a high-collared dark blue jacket heightened with turquoise
blue silk lining, embroidered with flower sprigs, butterflies, and archaic
vases, and further decorated with flower bands; the second a black
ground silk apron skirt in two sections, decorated with light color floral
ribbons, and applied silk trimmed with lotuses and ruyi collars.
