Old Covenant Law is Satan’s Playground

Why would any Christian want to play in it?

It puts a curse on us (Gal 3:10).

Satan blinds us from seeing the gospel (II Cor 3: 15-17, II Cor 4:3-4).

                                              The law brings God’s mind,

                                             the gospel reveals his heart.

I’m not suggesting we throw the Old Covenant law away. There

is a lot of good stuff there. The better we live the law, the better our

lives will go for us. We shouldn’t lie, cuss, steal, commit adultery, and

do other bad stuff. We should attend a good GOSPEL preaching
church, read our Bible, and pray.

But, these things have nothing to do with our relationship with

God. Only the finished work of Christ controls our relationship with

God. But because the Old Covenant law is so strongly preached, we
wrongly think it controls our relationship with God.

Isaiah asks, “How long will you halt between two opinions?”

I believe that God sees those who have been saved under New

Covenant grace, but live under the Old Covenant law, as being

‘double-minded, and unstable in all their ways,’ as James says.

Psychologically, I believe he sees them as being spiritually
