Here, Jesus has become our once for all sacrifice.
What Paul called the mystery of the gospel is the most
amazing, powerful thing in all of human history. This is WHY Satan
wants to blind our minds and hearts from it. This is WHY Satan
wants God’s preachers to keep preaching the LAW week after week,
month after month, and year after year:
The more sin-conscious we are
the more we live in guilt and condemnation
and in the law of sin and death.
Satan does not want the revelation of the GOSPEL to impact
our hearts. He does not want us to know who we are in Jesus: our
authority and power in this life. He doesn’t want us to come into the
revelation of I John 4:16: “As Jesus is, so are WE in this world.”
This verse also tells us that we should have confidence and
boldness in the day of judgment. If we are living in sin-consciousness
we don’t have boldness and confidence but we instead live in fear.
Elsewhere, Paul says we experience ‘the terror of the Lord.’
The gospel gives us confidence, not fear and terror.
You talk about spiritual warfare. Satan will do anything to keep
Christians from coming into the knowledge of the gospel. That’s why
Paul says, “God would have all men to be saved — AND to come into
