ALL the law of God we possibly can, because it is GOOD for us,

and it preserves us alive, as Deuteronomy 6:24 says.

But in the New Testament gospel, it is no longer our means to

righteousness — or right relationship with God, as Deuteronomy

6:25 says it was under the Old Testament. What we do good does
not earn us a credit or brownie-points with God, and what we do

bad doesn’t earn us a loss or demerits with God.

SEE IT: Since the cross, there is a new law established with

regard to this: it is ONLY by faith in the finished work of Jesus. Now
the Old Testament law has nothing to do with our relationship with

God. That is established by faith in Christ only.

                 John, and the Others...

The apostle John, and others, didn’t get the revelation of the

gospel right away. It took them awhile to really ‘see it.’ That’s why

Paul confronted Peter with not preaching the gospel in Galatians 2.

He in effect called him a hypocrite. It took time for the revelation of
the gospel to sink into them.

It takes time for it to sink in with us too.

The gospel is not the way we think as humans.

The gospel is the way God thinks.

It takes us time for a renewal and transformation
