is likely to be.
Rosenberg and Owens in Guindon (2010: 18) have
provided a portrait of low-self-esteem people drawn from
surveys and experimental studies. Those with low self-esteem
are more sensitive than others to experiences that threaten
to damage their self-esteem. They are more troubled by
criticism and have more severe emotional reactions to failure.
Additionally, they are more likely to magnify events as negative
or perceive noncritical remarks as critical.
Those with low self-esteem are more likely than others to
experience social anxiety, exhibiting high levels of public self-
consciousness. Low-self-esteem people have low interpersonal
confidence.
They feel “awkward, shy, conspicuous, and unable to
adequately express themselves when interacting with others”.
Some of the effects of low-self esteem which can have on an
individual's beliefs and behaviors are:
1) Little confidence in their abilities.
