Some effects of high self-esteem are:
1) Better equipped to cope with adversity in career or
personal live.
2) The quicker we are to pick ourselves up after a fall.
3) The more ambitious we tend to be.
4) The more inclined we are to treat other with respect,
benevolence, good will and fairness (Branden, 1992:
13-15).
c. Healthy / Medium Self-Esteem
Healthy self-esteem is to waver between the two states
above, that is, to feel able and useless, right and wrong as a
person, and to show these incongruities in behavior, acting at
times wisely, and at rashly others, thus reinforcing insecurity.
Some effects of healthy / medium self-esteem:
1) Liking themselves, for the most part, as they are, only
occasionally having short bouts of self doubt.
2) Respecting themselves as well as others.
3) Compatible with humility, placing them midway
between grandiosity and self-effacement.
4) Confident without being overbearing.
5) See criticism and questioning as useful feedback.
6) Generally take setbacks and obstacles in their stride, and
able to accept and learn from their own mistakes.
