2) If things go well, they dismiss them as luck or fluke.
3) Expecting that they will do poorly at a task prior to trying
it.
4) Giving up quickly when faced with difficulties.
5) Noticing failed attempts and discount/ignore successes
and so ‘confirm’ negative thoughts - i.e. self fulfilling
prophecy.
6) Letting things happen to them rather than make things
happen.
7) Feeling they have little control over their own life.
8) Giving power over to others.
9) Wondering what it is about them that cause bad things to
happen to them.
10) Overlying defensive when questioned and avoid asking
questions so don't look foolish (Mruk, 2006: 82).
b. High Self-Esteem
High self-esteem seeks the stimulation of demanding goals,
and reaching demanding goals nurtures good self-esteem.
Rosenberg (1979: 54) states that person who is characterized as
having high self-esteem has self-respect, considers himself a
person of worth. Appreciating his own merits, he nonetheless
recognizes his faults (Gray-little et,al.: 1997).
