SESSION 2 : Song of Songs Chapter 1:1-2 (TPT)
It then goes on to explain that the number 144,000 is symbolic. The
number 0 means seed. The number 3 means the fullness of God.
Therefore, 000 means a seed in the fullness and image of God. The
number 12 means divine government. The number 2 means God
determines the matter. So, 12 × 12 = 144 symbolizes divine
government—God determines the matter.
In essence, what is being conveyed here is that the 144,000 who are
standing with the Lamb upon Mount Zion, having the Father’s name
written on their foreheads (having renewed minds to know who and
whose they really are), are: “Seeds in the fullness and image of God,
under His divine government—God determines the matter.”
Therefore, we can see that the Song of Songs is the journey of an
individual believer into the fullness of God.
As we begin Song of Songs, it is worth asking ourselves: Where is this
young woman in her walk with the Lord? The fact that some
translations use 'young' would seem to indicate that, although she is no
longer at the point of conversion, she is still relatively immature in her
walk. Even so, she has had placed within her heart some Holy Spirit
revelation of the beauty and loveliness of Jesus, and has realized that a
“run-of-the-mill” Christian walk is not for her. She is longing to know
Him more.
In one commentary I read, it states that from Chapter 1 up until Chapter
2, verse 7, the song is about “initial love.”
