RADICAL LOVE
completely because Jesus fulfilled the terms of the covenant for us on
the cross. We should be the happiest, most secure people on earth based
on this scripture alone!
There is another way to look at it, also. Notice it says goodness and
mercy will follow me, which could mean that wherever we go, whoever
we encounter, whatever we do—should result in us leaving behind an
atmosphere of goodness, kindness, and grace. Is this our experience?
Do we bring with us the comfort, peace, and fragrance of Christ with
which to assuage the wounds of so many in the world?
That is the desire of God for our lives, and He can do it in us as we gain
increased revelation of who we really are in the eyes of our Maker.
We are now leaving the Shepherd Psalm to embark upon another
journey—through the Song of Songs. This book is all about having our
eyes opened to the precious treasures we are to God, and the truth that
we are those who have the utmost privilege and honour to dwell in His
house forever—He, living in us as our heavenly Bridegroom, and we,
living our lives through Him and in Him, as His pure, spotless Bride.
