responsible for our own walk with God. We must pursue God for
ourselves in the secret place to experience and truly get to know Him.
Only then will we be truly convinced of His absolute, total sufficiency
for each one of us—no matter what we may have to face.
The relationship between a Bride and her Bridegroom is the most
intimate there is, and in these days, God wants to present Himself to us
as such. A good example of this is when we consider what the Lord is
doing with the younger generation—He is enveloping them in His love
and acceptance, with an emphasis on worship and praise.
Returning to the text and the latter part of verse 12, she says that as they
go forth into these harvest fields, they will discover whether the passion
of other believers has been awakened. We can all mention certain
people we have had the privilege of fellowshipping with who are
passionate about Jesus. They bring life, encouragement, and joy to our
hearts. Similarly, there are those whose hearts have not been warmed
by the Holy Spirit’s love fire—and with them, it is a totally different
experience.
The Lord, however, wishes all of His beloved children to be recipients
of this love—especially now, as the situation in the world becomes
increasingly critical. How they are to receive this love is revealed in the
last few words of verse 12. The Shulamite says that in these vineyards
she will display her love for Him, and this will be manifested by the
way she treats her brothers and sisters, both in the Body and the world.
