Other leaves provided by Mission (such as PTO, personal leave, and other non-statutory leaves)
do not carry any particular reinstatement rights. If an employee who has been out on a statutory
leave extends his/her absence under one of the non-statutory leaves, his/her employment may be
subject to termination of employment depending on the business needs of Mission.

When an employee has exhausted all of his/her available leave, statutory and/or non-statutory, and
does not return to work, then the individual’s employment will normally terminate at that time.
However, Mission reserves the right to terminate the employment of an individual on leave prior
to the end of the leave so long as the termination does not violate any of the employee’s statutory
protected leave rights or rights under the ADA.

               LEAVE ADMINISTRATION

Leave records are maintained by the People Operations Department. PTO leave must be entered
into the HRIS system as leave is taken. Supervisors/managers are responsible for verifying and/or
entering leave for employees before approving time and attendance records.

Supervisors/managers will need to enter leave on a weekly basis for employees who are out for
extended periods of time. This will ensure proper pay and accurate leave records.
Employees and supervisors/managers are required to immediately notify the People Operations
Department of a surgery/illness or is off work for three (3) or more consecutive days, as well as
when the absent employee returns to work. Employees returning to work after three (3) days of
illness, hospitalization, etc., must bring in a written note from their health care provider showing
release to return to work and submit it to mpcbenefits@missionpharmacal.com. These releases are
to be forwarded to the Benefits Department upon receipt and an employee must receive clearance
from the People Operations Department prior to returning to work. Supervisors/managers should
not retain copies of the work releases for their records.
