Abstract This thesis is a design and development project for an outdoor all-terrain electric
wheelchair. This is a collaborative project that is separated into three main sections. The chassis
of the outdoor all-terrain wheelchair, which is the major subject of this thesis, is one of the
parts. The majority of wheelchairs are now designed for inside use rather than outdoor use.
Furthermore, there are all-terrain wheelchairs on the market, but they are prohibitively pricey
and unaffordable. To create a decent outdoor all-terrain electric wheelchair, it must have a well-
designed chassis that is sturdy and stable and the best material for the chassis. In this project,
Solidworks software and finite element analysis tools will be used. Solidworks software will
be used to create a 3D model of the chassis, and finite element analysis tools will be used to
analyze the materials used. The results will be used to compare the two materials, mild steel,
and stainless steel. This outdoor all-terrain electric wheelchair may be advantageous for
wheelchair users who want to participate in outdoor activities with their friends or family.
