Note: Determining the proper amount of cure of the concrete is important for
achieving a uniform machine-toweled finish.
3. Make sure the throttle is set at the "minimal" position before the compression
chamber is compressed (refer to fig 4-2). Then pull the recoil starter rope (fig 4.3).
to start the engine.
(Note: Crank the engine for a few time and ensure the recoil starter is set at the
right position to achieve the right tension to provide the right torque before a
pull back. After the pull back release the recoil rope gently.)
4. After the engine starts, move the engine choke to its fully open position. Let the
engine warm up before operating. Allow longer warm up in cold weather.
5. Adjust the winch handle to elevate the blades to the desire angle. (refer to fig 4-4)
6. Stand directly behind the power trowel with good footing position. Hold the
power trowel firmly. Switch the throttle lever to completely clockwise position.
This will make the blades spin. (refer to fig 4-5)
7. With a firm grip on the handle, guide the power trowel on the concrete slab:
a. Push the handle down and the power trowel will move to the right.
b. Lift the handle up and the power trowel will move to the left.
c. Slightly twist to the left and move forward the power trowel will move
forward.
d. Slightly twist to the right and the power trowel will move backward.
e. Hold the handle in the neutral position and the power towel will remain
stationary.
Stop the Power Trowel:
1. To stops the power trowel, switch the throttle lever to its “OFF” position (fully
anti-clockwise). (Refer to fig 4-6).
