5. Operation Tips

5.1) Preparing The Concrete Surface:

The use of a concrete vibrator(not included) in the concrete pour and leveling of the
concrete slab with flat screed (not included) will provide better compaction of the slab
and produce an idea surface for finishing. Be aware that the power trowel cannot repair or
correct a poorly prepared slab.

5.2) Operation Tips on Power Trowel

Step 1 - Choose the Power Trowel

 To level a small area of 300 square meter and below, choose the walk behind
         power trowel.

 For large areas over 300 square meter and above for a single time concrete slab to
be trowel, a ride on power trowel will help you finish quickly before the concrete
         sets too firmly.

Step 2 - Test the Concrete Before Troweling

 Let the concrete poured cure for a few hours before using the power trowel.
 Used a concrete vibrator to remove pockets of air that are trapped in the concrete

         slab.
 Make sure the concrete is firm enough to support you and the power trowel by

doing a footprint test: Step onto the slab and measure the imprint depth.
 If the imprint is 1/8 inch deep or less, the concrete is ready for troweling.

Step 3 - Float the Concrete to Remove "Hills and Valleys"

 Use the trowel with float blades or combined blades to level the concrete on your
first pass. Floating reduces bumps (hills) and fills in the hollows (valleys).

 Run the power trowel at 3/4 speed with the blades flat. This keeps the weight of
the machine evenly distributed and avoids digging into the concrete.

 This speed of rotation will prevent splatters of still-damp concrete being thrown
         forward into the machine's path.

 Overlap passes by 1/2 the length of the trowel blades as you traverse the power
         trowel into a new area.

 When finished floating the entire slab once, turn the power trowel at 90 degrees to
your first rows. This crossover floating technique enables you to finish missed
         spots.

Step 4 - Finish the Concrete to Seal, Close and Polish
