12y FS Keeshond with acute paralysis. Survey spinal radiographs show widespread focal and coalescing osteodestructive lesions involving
the vertebrae, ribs, and scapulae (a). CT myelographic images c, d, and e are at the level of the second, third, and fifth thoracic vertebra,
respectively, and further document the multifocal osteolytic lesions in vertebrae, rib heads, and scapular cortices (c–e). The subarachnoid
contrast column is circumferentially attenuated at the level of T5 (e: arrowhead). Postmortem examination confirmed a diagnosis of
multiple myeloma and further documented a compression fracture of the fifth thoracic vertebra (b: arrow). Medullary and cortical bone
destruction is also evident on the gross pathology specimen (b: arrowheads).
