Will the Real Christians Stand Up
to Tallahassee, we will march, and our chant will be ‘We want
prayer, we want prayer, we want prayer.’
The students joined in and began to chant, “we want
prayer.”
Never had principal Hosabal, or any of the teachers, seen
the students stand up and take control of a school issue like
these young women of God were doing. Truly these young
ladies were called by God to do a mighty work in America,
he thought.
Soon the call would be revealed.
The students became radical as they continued to chant
‘we want prayer’.
“Okay, okay, everyone calm down,” Katey said. The stu-
dents calmed down.
“I would like to have a word of prayer. If everyone would
please bow your heads.”
The students bowed their heads. Katey started praying.
“Father in the mighty name of Jesus, we know that you hear
us --your righteous-- when we pray. Father, we know that you
hear all, you see all, and you, Father, have the final say. You
said that if we ask anything according to your will, that you
would hear us and we would have our petition granted. Fa-
ther, we ask that you be with us as we go to Tallahassee on
December 1st. Father ,we thank you and we praise you even
before we see the manifestation of our prayers answered. In
Jesus name. Amen.”
“Amen,” the students said loudly.
Principal Hosabal came back to the podium as the girls
took their seats. “Wow, I’m in awe,” principal Hosabal said,
“I’m a big fan of prayer even though I don’t pray much. l tell
you what, after I dismiss you all, I’m going to do everything in
my power to obtain as many school buses as we need to go
to Tallahassee on December 1st.”
