better grades,” Samaria said. “With our home environment
at peace, and our teacher’s home environment at peace,
teachers and students get along in perfect harmony. The
teachers can teach effectively, and the students can learn
effectively. As a result, students make better grades, and
graduation rates stay high. Take prayer away, and the gradu-
ation rate will be negatively affected.”
”The sixth reason why we know and believe prayer should
be kept in schools is that prayer breaks drug addictions,” Kat-
ey said. “Several students have become hooked on different
types of drugs. Because of pain, curiosity, and peer pressure,
students have attended our prayer circles and told us about
their drug addiction. We prayed with them and trusted Jesus
Christ to break the drug addictions, and he did. Take prayer
out of our schools, and you will see a high percentage of stu-
dents addicted to drugs.”
“The seventh reason why I believe that schools should be
a place of prayer is that prayer stops students from dropping
out,” Adriana said. “Keep in mind the circle is not just a prayer
circle; it’s a ministering circle. Before we pray, we ask students
to open their hearts and share with us the things for which they
need prayer. We have an understanding and trust with the
students, and they know that their business is kept confiden-
tial. We also have a prayer box we bring to the prayer circle.
The students are given the option to write down their prayers
and drop them inside the prayer box. After we pray that God
will keep students with a desire to stay in school, we talk to
the students and encourage them to stay in school, and they
do. Take prayer out of schools, and you will see the students’
dropout rate increase dramatically.”
“The eighth reason why we know and believe that prayer
should remain in schools is that it helps keep down sexual peer
pressure,” Samaria said. “In our prayer circles, we encourage
