CHAPTER FIVE
The March
“We would like to thank everyone for making it here to-
day,” Samaria said as she addressed the crowd outside the
governor’s office.
“When we came up with the idea of this march, we had
no clue that it would turn out like this. We are shocked that
so many people would attend this peaceful rally. The march
will start here, and we have road maps in place stationed
throughout downtown that will lead back here.”
“Before we start, I would like for us to have a moment of
prayer. If you would, please bow your heads.
Katey started praying. Father, in the name of Jesus, Lord,
we thank you for today. We thank you that we’ve come here
today with our faith in you for a good outcome. We ask for
protection and that you touch the heart of who’s in charge, in
your son Jesus’ name we ask and pray, amen. Now, say with
me, ‘we want prayer, we want prayer, we want prayer.’
The students joined in chanting, ‘we want prayer’ as they
started marching.
The young ladies proceeded inside the governor’s office.
“Right this way,” the governor’s secretary said, “the governor
