CHAPTER TEN

Samaria At Boot Camp

“I just couldn’t take it anymore,” one of the soldiers in
training said, “I did number one on myself and came pretty
close to doing number two.”
“Me, too,” another said. The team laughed intensely.
Just then, Drill Sergeant Jackson came out of nowhere.

“Ok, listen up. You all have five mikes to take care of
per- sonal business and five mikes for chow. The time is 16:35.
I expect you to be back here at 16:45. If anyone is a minute
late, you will stay in the push-up position until I say otherwise.
Time starts now,” he yelled as he blew his whistle.

The soldiers in training quickly scattered about to wash up
and eat within ten minutes. There was a lot of commotion and
fussing as the soldiers in training were eating and taking care
of their personal needs. During the five-minute chow time, the
soldiers in training barely had time to eat. Some were standing
in line eating as they slid their trays through. They finished their

meals quickly and headed outside to line up in formation.
“Magnificent, absolutely magnificent,” Sergeant Jack-
son said, “Now everybody in a push-up position.”
